TECHNICAL SPECS
Automatic watches are self-winding mechanical watches which are powered by motion instead of batteries or manual winding the crown. This means that the hairspring that turns the watch’s gears is powered automatically through the movement of the wearer’s wrist (and it stores power for around 35-40 hours).
If an automatic watch is not moved or worn daily, they stop, and need to be restarted manually. You can manually wind the watch by turning the crown on the side of the watch clockwise 10 to 15 times until you feel resistance.
Automatic watches are less precise than quartz (battery-powered) watches, but they are still considered accurate. They can lose up to 15 seconds a day depending on the age and quality of the watch. Despite this, automatic watches are often preferred to quartz watches as they require higher-end artistry and precision in creation due to their complicated mechanical construction. Compared to most manual-winding mechanical time-pieces, they are more accurate and resilient with less need for maintenance.
